Celebration of Life services for Jerry C. Brown, 65, of Champaign, will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Gardens, Urbana.

Brother Jud Paul Travis will officiate.

Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour before the service.

Mr. Brown died at 5:58 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2008, at his home. He was born April 18, 1943, in Huntington, Tennessee, a son of Hosema and Lulu M. (Johnson) Brown.

He married Sarah W. Kranto on July 17, 1992, in Danville, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, of Huntington; a son, Eric Brown, of Champaign; two daughters, Monique Coleman, of Champaign, and Lisa; four brothers, Glenn Brown, Chester Brown, James Brown, and Earl Brown, all of Champaign; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and four brothers.

A resident of Champaign-Urbana for over 50 years, Mr. Brown was employed as a crane operator at Kraft Foods in Champaign. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, St. Joseph, Illinois.
