Charles F. Dennis

Celebration of Life graveside services for Charles F. “Chuck” Dennis, 72, a resident of Champaign since 1982, will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2008, at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Champaign VFW Post #5520 Color Guard.
Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign, is assisting the Dennis family.
Visitation will be private.
Mr. Dennis died at 5:05 a.m., Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Helia Healthcare Center, Champaign.
He was born October 1, 1935, in Sadorus, a son of Henry Lee and Viola (Saegesser) Dennis. He married Marie Allen on September 22, 1957, in Champaign. She survives.
Also surviving and two sons, Jack Dennis, of Franklinton, Louisiana, and Michael E. Dennis, Champaign; a brother, Corum Lee Dennis, and a sister, Carol Rosemier, both of Champaign; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Dennis.
Mr. Dennis was employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a central office technician for 36 years. He retired in 1992.
Mr. Dennis served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the local chapter of Telephone Pioneers. His hobbies included working with model trains, model cars, his 1918 Model T, and computers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
