Michael Eric Garrett Michael Eric Garrett, 64, of Champaign, died at 5:55 a.m., Celebration of Life memorial services will be held at a later date. Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign, is handling arrangements. Mr. Garrett was born October 10, 1943, in Mattoon, the son of Carl and Mary (Morris) Garrett. He married Rebecca Vetter on September 9, 1986, in Bloomington, Illinois. She survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Hank Garrett. Mr. Garrett was a graduate of Illinois State Normal University. He was a rehabilitation teacher for the blind, employed by the State of Illinois. He was a ham radio operator. I am so sorry to hear about Michael’s passing. My father, Lanny Garrett, was Michael’s first cousin. As you may know, my father passed away in 1994. Please let us know when his celebration of life ceremony will take place. I would like to come to Champaign. Warm regards, Dan |
