Celebration of Life graveside services for Zelpha P. “Penny” Taylor, 84, of Champaign, will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign.

Mrs. Taylor died at 7:50 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

She was born October 1, 1923, in Champaign, the daughter of Gilbert L. and Bertha (Whipple) Dalton.

She married James T. Pruitt on December 23, 1940, in Champaign. She married John L. Billings on September 20, 1953, in Champaign. She later married Leo Glen Taylor on June 17, 1962, in Champaign. She was preceded in death by her husbands and three brothers.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by two sons, Dale Paul Pruitt, of Bloomfield, Indiana, and Mike Billings, of Rantoul; two daughters, Gale Burch, of Urbana, and Nancee Lathrop; eleven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Taylor was employed as a nurses aide at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Champaign before her retirement. She attended Webber Street Christian Church in Urbana. Her hobbies included working puzzles and crocheting.
