Grace E. Timm, 87, of Salem, Illinois, and formerly of Champaign, died August 6, 2008, at the Great Oaks Boarding Home in Salem.

Mrs. Timm was born January 18, 1921, in Iuka, Illinois, the daughter of August and Eleanor (Borcherding) Koehnke. They preceded her in death.

She was a former employee of the Salem Dress Factory. While in Champaign, she had worked for W. T. Grant Department Store, T G & Y-Urbana and Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Champaign.

She married Fred W. Timm December 9, 1945, in Iuka. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Mrs. Timm is survived by her son, Larry Timm, of Tolono; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Timm, of Iuka; nine grandchildren: Raymond Timm of Chicago, Suzi and Ray Manning of Mahomet, Jessica and Paul Minnaert of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Jason and Jennifer of Iuka, and Kristen and Craig Finney of Salem; and nine great-grandchildren: Markel Timm, Paige Garrison, Trae Garrison, Chloe Manning, Ethan Manning, Parker Manning, Jonathan Timm, Sara Timm, and Kennedy Finney

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Alan L. Timm, in 2006, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2008, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign. Pastor Tim Weiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview, Illinois.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to PACE-Illinois Association of the Deaf and will be accepted by Rankin Funeral Home, Salem, Illinois.
