A memorial service will be held for Carlos (Chuck) A. Cordova, 59, of Champaign at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1100 North Line Road in Tuscola. The service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 27. His brother, Alex Ruggieri, will officiate.

Carlos passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 11, 2010 at Carle Hospital in Urbana. He was born Feb. 22, 1950 in Chicago, IL.

He grad­uated from Rantoul High School. He attended Southern Illinois University and Parkland College, majoring in American History. He owned and operated
C and R Maintenance of Champaign.

He is survived by his mother, Irene Ruggieri, and two brothers, Alex Ruggieri and Ric Ruggieri, both of Tuscola, IL.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Santhanam.

Carlos was an avid Cubs fan and a Civil War buff. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family here and in Chicago.
