Celebration of Life Memorial Services for Reatha Mae “Mama” Crawford will be at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign. Elder Ann Johnson and Pastor Mary Ann Bridges will officiate. The eulogy will be delivered by Minister Dorothy E. Herrington.

Mama Crawford passed away at 5:45 a.m., Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Asta Care, Bloomington, Illinois. She was born July 11, 1922, in Rankin County, Mississippi, a daughter of John and Susan (Wilkes) Crawford. Her siblings include a sister and a brother.

At one time she was employed by Steak ’n Shake in Champaign.

She was a member of Greater Holy Temple Church in Urbana, pastored by the Rev. Ronald Sutherland. She enjoyed cooking and listening to gospel music. She enjoyed the loving company of her friends. She was a registered voter in Champaign County.

Miss Crawford is survived by the daughter and her legal guardian, Minister Dorothy Herrington, of Champaign, and a host of friends and well wishers.
