Celebration of Life services for Dale W. Dyszelski, 57, of Champaign, will be 3 dyszelskip.m., Monday, June 6, 2011, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign. Pastor Gary Grogan will officiate.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2011, and one hour before services Monday.

Mr. Dyszelski passed into eternal rest with his Heavenly Father at 5:02 a.m., Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Dale was born July 5, 1953, in Milwaukee, Wis., a son of Chester and Eleanor (Meyer) Dyszelski. He married Christine Gembara on May 24, 1980, in Palos Hills, Ill.

His daughter, Cassie Dyszelski, of Champaign, regards her father as her best friend and hero.

A brother, Dennis W. (Jeanine) Dyszelski, of Dallas, Tex., also survives.

Dale was a manager in retail sales. Often his employees would seek his guidance. For many he was a compassionate father figure, one with a great sense of humor.

Dale coached basketball and volleyball at Judah Christian School in Champaign. He was a Green Bay Packer fan and in his younger days tried out for the Packers.

He was an Illini sports fan and enjoyed tail-gating, cooking, and baking. Family and friends remember his excellent made-from-scratch pie crust, his strawberry-rhubarb pies and cheesecake. During the Christmas season he delighted in baking cookies and sharing them with family and friends.

Dale’s wife, Christine, and daughter, Cassie, recall fondly taking wonderful trips to Acapulco, San Juan, Paris, and London. Dale, Christine, and Christine’s father, “Harry” Jerome Gembara, also traveled to Israel.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
