Celebration of Life services for Harold R. “Dick” O’Bryan, 83, of Champaign, will be at 1:15 p.m., Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign. Minister Hank Sanford will officiate.

Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Mr. O’Bryan died at 12:29 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Carle Hospital, Urbana. He was born February 20, 1928, in Tuscola, a son of Marshall J. and Carman (Hall) O’Bryan.

He married Lucille Berry on February 3, 1946 in Tuscola. She preceded him in death on March 25, 1995.

Mr. O’Bryan is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Pease, of Mahomet; a son, Richard R. O’Bryan, of Champaign; two brothers, James A. O’Bryan, of Tuscola, and Fred A. O’Bryan, of Champaign; four sisters, Thelma Berbaum of Champaign, Delores Stoerger, of Urbana, Lela O’Bryan, of Hawaii, and Helen Collins, of Seattle, Washington; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers, Vern O’Bryan and Robert O’Bryan.

Mr. O’Bryan was employed in Building Services at the U of I for 36 years. He was a member of First Christian Church of Champaign.

He was an Illini sports fan.
