Celebration of Life services for Sharleen Penrod, 71, of Georgetown, will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign. Elder James Harden will officiate.

Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Penrod passed away at 7:08 a.m., Sunday, November 8, 2009, at her home in Georgetown.

She was born March 23, 1938, in Urbana, the daughter of James C. and Hazel (Rex) Legue. She married Arthur E. Penrod on August 11, 1984, in Champaign. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Tim Cozad, of Mahomet, and Terry Cozad of Champaign; five daughters, Pat Lyn Jameson, of Georgetown, Diana S. (Israel) Cozad-Velazquez, and Lisa Rae Head, both of Lafayette, Indiana, Teresa Mae Cozad, of Mahomet, and Becky Jo Campbell, of Champaign; eleven grandchildren, Kimberly H. Jameson, Kyle Cozad, Erica Penrod, Randi Cozad, Andrea Head, Jessica Starky, Aarron Cozad, Gregory Penrod, Heath Cozad, Harlee Cozad, and David Penrod; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Penrod was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tom Legue; a daughter, Maribess Plummer; one grandson, Timothy R. Cozad; and one granddaughter, Amanda R. Loden.

Mrs. Penrod was employed for many years as a housekeeper for the former Greenbriar Nursing Home in Champaign. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Champaign.

Mrs. Penrod enjoyed crocheting, and listening to Elvis. Most of all, she enjoyed her family.
