Celebration of Life services for Dorothy R. Shellabarger, 90, of Urbana, will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm, Champaign. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.

Mrs. Shellabarger passed away at 10:48 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana.

She was born March 13, 1921, in Champaign, a daughter of Roy and Maude (Roper) Wright. She married Vaughn Shellabarger on June 13, 1941, in Champaign.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Shellabarger, of Milan, Ill. and Ken Shellabarger of Naples, Fla; one sister, Juanita Balentyne, of Sun City West, Ariz.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and one sister.

Mrs. Shellabarger was a registered nurse and was employed at Mercy Hospital, Urbana, for 28 years, retiring in 1986. She was a resident of Round Barn Center for 18 years. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Champaign.

She enjoyed growing flowers, taking walks, and listening to music. She was known for her wonderful Sunday dinners.
