Mary Lorraine Tschappat, 91, formerly of Florence, Kentucky, widow of Lyle N. Tschappat, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 27, 2011, at National Health Care in Greenwood, South Carolina.
 
Born in Platteville, Illinois on June 25, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Everett E. Southcombe and Alice Baker Southcombe of Morris, Illinois.

Mrs. Tschappat was a homemaker, loving wife, Mother and Grandmother and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Tschappat is survived by, her daughter, Mrs. Ron Breazeale (Mary Jo) of Greenwood, South Carolina; son, Dean L. Tschappat of Urbana; son-in-law, Lawrence C. Barhorst of Independence, Kentucky; sisters, Marion A. Valerio-Hume of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Mrs. Gerald S. White (Janis) of Bourbonnais, Illinois, Mrs. Donald Pfeifer (Doris) of Coal City, Illinois; brother, Charles W. Southcombe (his wife, Jean) of Morris, Illinois; grandchildren, Torrie Sullivan, Tammie Parsons, Robert Barhorst, Jennifer Tschappat-Larson, Adam Tschappat, Hannah Tschappat, and Cliff Breazeale and 8 great-grandchildren.
  
Mrs. Tschappat was preceded in death by daughter, Elaine A. Barhorst;
sister, Winfred S. Berkland, brother, Bruce Southcombe and grandson, Lawrence C. (Trey) Barhorst III.
 
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, at Grandview Gardens, Champaign. The Rev. Steve Brady will officiate.
