Delmar Carlson, 78, of Urbana died Friday April 5, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Regretfully, our Lord has called him home.
Del leaves behind his loving wife, Dottii; a loving daughter, Angela; four tenderly devoted grandchildren, Christina, Michelle (Curtiss), Kelsi (Travis) and Jacob (Skyler); seven beautiful, loving grandchildren, Sean, Destiny, Marion, Kayden, Dalton, Hunter and Layla; a sister, Vera; and two brothers, Warren and Wilbur (Dorothy); as well as many close and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his loving son, David; his parents, Ernest and Vernice; two brothers, Vernon and Kenneth; and a brother-in-law, Sam.
Del was born on March 18, 1946, in Norwood, Mo. He served with the Marines in the Vietnam War. He later worked as a professional mechanic and then as a professional electrician.
He enjoyed cutting up with others, fishing, hunting, playing cards, dice and bingo. His Baptist faith kept him knowing he would be in heaven and someday be with us all again.
His family will be celebrating him and honoring his life from noon to 5 p.m. May 11 at the Mahomet Sportsmen’s Club, 705 W. Hickory St., Mahomet.
