Ethel Thornton-Esters was born Oct. 18, 1948, in Bloomington, and died on Aug. 28, 2023, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana.
She is survived by a daughter, Dionne Esters; granddaughter Kheyonna Bailey; sisters Diane Thornton-Cook (family) and Katheryn Stoner-Davis (family); and many family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at Heath & Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm St., Champaign. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
